Apple iPhone 4s looks like it will have a successful launch this weekend.

While the launch was less than exciting last week, I expect sales to be very high for three reasons. Reservations were high. New features are more exciting than we originally thought. And Steve Jobs passing gives users an extra reason to buy this version. Steve’s last.

Lines outside of stores are not expected to be heavy since there are so many more stores selling iPhones this time. Last time it was only available at Apple and AT&T stores. Now it is also available at Verizon and Sprint and assorted other retailers.

That will cut down on the lines, but should translate into heavier sales.

There are long lines outside of certain stores like 5th Avenue in New York City. Most stores don’t have lines this time.

There is no way to tell how many phones will sell this first weekend, but it won’t be weak that’s for sure. It will be a good weekend for Apple and their investors and partners.
