Will Apple or Samsung Win? | Jeff Kagan Tech Analyst
This case between Apple and Samsung is important, but not like you may think.
This is important to the finances of Apple and Samsung.
However it’s not really important to the customers.
And while it is important to the investors, it’s really not going to amount to much more than a blip on the radar.
These are two, very large very important companies in the space. They drive investment, innovation, employment and enjoyment to many people.
After this trial is complete, they will still be two, very large and very important companies in the space bringing the same benefits.
This is not a make it or break it case.
Both companies will walk away and be able to continue to compete and to grow.
This is very similar to the countless cases we have watched through the 1990′s and 2000′s.
It’s just a matter of who has to pay who and how many zeros are on the check.
Apple may want to win and drive Samsung out of business, but that will never happen. This is not that dramatic a case. Both will survive and thrive going forward.
The worse case scenario is Samsung has to replace the technology. If that is the case I am sure they have already been working on it and are ready to go.
This is not the first and this won’t be the last case like this. It’s just the way the tech cookie crumbles.
