Bisk Education Employees Participate in Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa! Event

Volunteer painters spread hope to the community

TAMPA, Fla., April 30, 2012 — Twenty-six employees from Bisk Education participated in the 24th annual Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa! (PYHOT) event on Saturday, April 21. The event is part of a city-wide program that encourages volunteers from area businesses, clubs, and organizations to lend a helping hand to low-income elderly citizens in the Tampa community.

Bisk employees gathered to paint a house near St. Joseph’s hospital in West Tampa. Over the course of the day the volunteers had opportunities to bond with the homeowner and with each other. “This event was a great team-building exercise,” said Diane Coleman, a manager at Bisk. “It brought together employees from different areas of the company to participate in a good cause.”

Kara Shields, an Enrollment Specialist who joined Bisk in March, agrees. “I really enjoyed participating in PYHOT. I have only been with Bisk for a short time and really enjoyed how everyone came together to help the community. I will definitely do it again next year!”

Bisk’s volunteer painters wore matching t-shirts to encourage others to Spread Hope. Philip Kenney, the company’s Vice President of Human Resources, is proud of the group participation and the overall result. “Events like this one make each individual involved feel good and help build personal connections. Those feelings create a better community and a stronger, happier work environment. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.”
