Author Shares Inspirational Story in New Autobiography

Part autobiography and part inspirational memoir, “You’re Never Too Old” follows Rowsell’s childhood in Idaho and gives biographical information about his family that future generations are sure to cherish. He includes dozens of family photographs and detailed genealogical information, but it is Rowsell’s own life story that is sure to inspire readers living in today’s world of layoffs, recession and a weak job market.
At age 42, Rowsell found himself “drifting from one failure to another,” he writes. “I didn’t have much to show for my life except two wonderful children.” He had filed for business and personal bankruptcy, could barely afford to feed his family, and found himself drifting apart from his wife. Depressed and downtrodden, he found employment delivering newspapers and working at a gas station. “The time had come for me to pick myself up, dust myself off, and quit feeling sorry for myself.”
Just three years later, Rowsell’s determination had carried him through college, and he graduated and embarked on his first professional career as a physician assistant 27 years after graduating high school. He excelled at the job and things began to look up. He and his wife divorced and he was remarried several years later.
At age 55, Rowsell and his wife, Maria, welcomed triplets of their own at the same time his fourth and fifth grandchildren were born. Today, Rowsell is retired and working part-time, and helps Maria raise a set of very active 10-year-old triplets. “I am 65 years as I finish this book,” he writes. “I am very content and happy with my life. I am still working, doing what I love to do. I am healthy. I have a wonderful life. I have five beautiful children. I have seven awesome grandchildren. I have time to enjoy it all. Life is so good!”
For anyone considering changing careers, going back to college, or making a positive life change in general, Rowsell gives the encouragement and reminder that “You’re Never Too Old” with his compelling life story.
