In today’s Wall Street Journal there is a very interesting article on PHONE TRACKING and it raises quite a few interesting questions.

On one hand we are happy when the authorities like police have the tools to track back guys. On the other hand they also have the ability to track everyone.

This is full of good and bad. We just have to stop and seriously consider what kind of America we want to see going forward.

Wireless networks get enormous requests for tracking information and there is no judicial approval necessary.

Another big problem is hundreds of millions of Americans simply don’t know that they are being tracked.

So what is the answer? Keep the ability, but don’t give out the information unless judicial approval comes with the request is one answer. This does not solve all the problems, but limits them and balances the good with the bad.

Right now it is all bad for hundreds of millions of law abiding citizens who just don’t know they are being tracked.
