Dr. Franz is proud to introduce her new book, “Common Sense Pediatrics” (published by AuthorHouse), a loving compilation of amazing things she has learned throughout her years of pediatric practice.
From the first page until the last readers will relish in the myriad of pediatric information shared in simple, easy-to-understand language. With great attention to detail on the first and second-year monthly doctor check-ups through to the pre-teen and teenage years, Dr. Franz leaves no stone unturned when discussing what to expect and look for at these critical stages of personal growth and development.
Throughout the book Dr. Franz shares with her readers experiences from raising her own children, including talking about how to safely store guns in the house as well as deciding when to let your child be able to get a driving permit:
Journey with joy. I have found that even in conflict, I learn something and my children have helped me evolve. Why yes, I freely confess there are MANY days I do not like teenagers … anyone’s! When there is a really good day, you can see that all is not lost, and you are not the worst parent on the planet!
The latter part of “Common Sense Pediatrics” discusses at length the practice of alternative forms of medicine including the ancient practices of Chinese Medicine and homeopathy. Dr. Franz takes the reader through a thorough explanation process that includes defining terms and sharing some common “natural” remedies used by the homeopaths and Chinese Medicine practitioners for centuries:
The body is more then the sum of its parts. I have learned that seeing a person as a whole being emotional, physical and spiritual leads to a deeper and more thorough type of healing. When we deal with just symptoms, healing is often not complete.
