Nugent Appraisal LLC began in 1976 when founder Ray Nugent Jr., the owner of a rare books store in Naples, FL, began appraising books because customers requested the value of them. After appraising books, he expanded into documents/manuscripts, and finally to residential contents, fine art, etc. His son, Ray III joined the business in 2001. His online commerce experience enabled the firm to expand their valuation services to a much wider market by identifying, appraising, and certifying items remotely from digital images and descriptions. Ray Jr’s granddaughter Olivia Nugent joined the family business in 2014 as the firm’s accredited Gemologist, completing the 3rd generation of Nugent appraisers.
