Atlanta, GA, April 29, 2009 — In his new collection of poetry, “Endless Voices” (published by AuthorHouse), Theo Igboekwe brings together a lifetime of poetry that is full of emboldened ideas about the human endeavor.

“The Endless Voices is a tinkle of an idea that eventually resulted in a massive waterfall,” writes Igboekwe. “It is an actuation of inner agitation and a thunderous outburst that, now, knows no limitation … an inner agitation that had been held up in his make-up for the time period that dated as far back as he could hold a pen. It is like a thought that is poured out into a cast of many imaginations.”

Igboekwe’s poetry has the ability to capture not only the vivid imagery of a specific moment, but the universal experiences that lie behind it. This understanding is evident in poems such as “The Great Gamble”:

A sordid silence was broken

We lost in a great gamble

A game that once gave hope

That our appetite of greed wetted

From the depth of pockets we betted

Our efforts not worth the pull

When common sense begins to pool

The river of gain flows beneath our knees

Clears the debris of forgotten loss

That which our issues embattles

Is what our fate baffles

The reverences that distinguish

Are what we are about to relinquish

We galloped into fame

Through the gulley of known shame

A character is today assassinated

When a Monk is mocked

My past favors fought my present odds

The truth desired and implored

Affirms the greed that is explored

The faces that our efforts crowned

Are what today at us frowned

Because we lost in a gamble

Theo Igboekwe was born in Enugu, Nigeria, and studied veterinary science at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and later, human medicine at the Christian Albrecht Universitat zu Kiel, Germany.
