“Spiral of Greed” Highlights What Can Happen When Money Becomes Everything
Phillip Wescott is a family law attorney living in Portland, Maine, with his wife and three children. Over the past several years he has seen his law firm steadily lose business, and he even lost his partner of 10 years, Steven. At the end of his financial rope, Phillip and his family are forced to cut back on the lavish spending their lifestyle has afforded them for many years.
Elizabeth, Phillip’s wife, is especially fond of her family’s stylish home, fancy cars and expensive clothes. Fed up with making sacrifices and convinced that Phillip’s career has gone down the toilet, she serves him with divorce papers and kicks him out of their house, vowing to keep custody of their children and claim half of whatever money he has left.
Phillip is broke, depressed and in shock when he runs across his former partner, Steven, and the fellow divorce lawyer agrees to represent him and gives him a place to stay. In exchange Phillip is expected to help Steven with lucrative, dangerous cocaine trafficking. These jobs take him all over Maine, armed with a handgun, transporting thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of drugs.
With no other place to turn, Phillip finds himself quickly thrust into a life-threatening world of crime and danger. Meanwhile, his 14-year-old son Ryan has been taken out of his illustrious private school and placed in the local public school, and is struggling with a gang who physically assaults him and forces him to bring them money with ever-increasing frequency.
Follow this broken family and discover just what lengths people are willing to go to when they hit rock bottom. “Spiral of Greed” illustrates what can happen when gangs terrorize teenagers and sheds light on the ruthless criminals who participate in drug smuggling.
Will Phillip find himself in too deep with these maniacal cocaine dealers? Will Ryan stand up to his aggressors? Will Elizabeth realize that money can’t replace a loving family? Find out in the action-packed pages of “Spiral of Greed.”
