Nokia smart phone sales may get much worse before they stand a chance at getting better.
Why? Microsoft.
Nokia has been struggling over the last few years to catch up with Apple iPhone and Google Android.
Nokia is in a partnership with Microsoft on the new Lumia smart phone which has had a very luke warm time in the marketplace.
The wireless industry changes quickly. Now Microsoft is reinventing itself to compete head to head with Apple and Google with integrated software and hardware.
That leaves Nokia behind in the dust.
I hear that the next generation Microsoft operating system will not work on the Nokia Lumia, and that is due later this year.
Microsoft sees the changing industry and is changing itself, radically and quickly.
Unfortunately that kind of leaves Nokia behind in the dust.
Now it’s up to Nokia to update their brand new device to work with the new Microsoft operating system.
This is a really rough blow to Nokia, a company already wresting with a weakening market position.
All this talk could keep customers in the market right now from choosing a Nokia Lumia phone. Either they will choose another brand or wait till the new version hits the market.
That’s the way the market operates. Even Apple has a soft quarter, the quarter before the next iPhone hits the market.
Does the bad news ever end for Nokia?
