AllChalets Releases Infographic Report on the Top Ski Chalet Resorts in Europe

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/12/2014 -- As the winter skiing season fast approaches the team at All Chalets have produced a round-up of the most popular ski resorts for chalet bookings so far this year. It is no surprise that ski holidays in France, Switzerland and Austria are as popular as ever. The top resorts for ski chalet bookings this year are Chamonix, Meribel, Val d’Isere, Verbier, Zermatt and St Anton.

These top ski resorts all offer something different for skiers and snowboarders. Here is a summary of the recent AllChalets ski resort survey.

- Altitude wise Chamonix and Verbier have the highest lifts at 3842m and 3899m respectively

- Meribel on the other hand is part of the huge 3 Valleys ski area and weighs in with the largest ski area at just over 600km.

- For snowboarders who enjoy hitting the rails and tables in the snow park then Meribel and the 3 Valleys offers access to 9 snow parks and boarder cross areas,  while Verbier comes second with  3 snow parks.

- In terms of distances and long ski runs Chamonix is well ahead with the 22k long Vallee Blanche. Not only is this the longest piste on the list but it is also off pistes which makes the run even more challenging. Anyone planning to tackle the off piste in the Vallee Blanche is recommended to take an experienced ski guide.

- For the skiers who like to party or enjoy the apres ski they will be interested to know that the most expensive price for a beer is in €6.50 in Verbier and the cheapest is €4.50 in St Anton. It is little surprise then that St Anton am Arlberg has a reputation as a lively partying ski resort.

- No one likes a long bus ride or drive from the airport to their favourite ski resort. In this respect Chamonix and St Anton comes tops as they offer a transfer distance of just 88km from Geneva to Chamonix and 100km from Innsbruck to St Anton.

That is just a quick summary of what is on offer in each destination. For the full details and to get a visual breakdown of these ski destinations, visit the allChalets ski resort infographic.
