Anthony Amado Expresses Sympathies on the Passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman

Bergen County, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/03/2014 -- Another great actor’s life has ended too quickly. Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away yesterday, after a suspected heroin overdose. Hoffman had battled an addiction to heroin and other substances in the past, but was 23 years sober until a recent relapse.

Anthony Amado, an avid fan of Hoffman’s work, was saddened to hear the news on Sunday. “Another great actor gone too soon. Hopefully something can be done to help all these actors who get caught up in drug abuse,” Anthony Amado said.

Law enforcement believes to have found 50 envelopes containing drug substances in Hoffman’s New York City apartment. Heroin took like the life of “Glee” actor Cory Monteith in July. Heroin use is on the rise; it’s pummeling the Northeast DEA officials say. It’s cheaper than many other drugs and gives the same, if not better high.

Many people in the Hollywood community expressed sympathies over the actors passing as well. For Mike Nichols, who directed Hoffman in his Oscar-nominated turn in "Charlie Wilson's War," there were no words, just grief.
