Cocoa Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/05/2014 -- Surfer Dudes is world's first and only toy that catches ocean waves and rides them all the way to shore! Kids and adults can stay safe in the shallows while throwing the Surfer Dude into the ocean. Every Surfer Dude will turn right side up, point toward the beach, then catch its own wave and surf back to the shore.

Months of testing were needed to create this simple-looking but extremely complex beach toy. It was extremely difficult to create a simple toy that stays upright in the water, spins toward the beach, and catches its own waves.

When it flips over, the Dude on the board acts as a temporary keel, stopping the toy from spinning wildly out of control and continuing the forward progress. The wave naturally kicks the toy back over and the wing locks back into the wave, taking control and keeping the toy in the wall of the wave (the sweet spot). Surfer Dudes conquer all kinds of forces and currents in the waves as they stay upright and shoot toward the shore.
