Attention Caregivers and Patients, There's an App for That: Innovative New App Is More Than Just a Medication Reminder

Gilbert, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/17/2014 -- Imagine not having to worry whether One's grandmother is taking her medications on schedule because she can hear their voice gently reminding her when that time comes. Or, let’s say they are a nurse who thinks their patient may need help remembering the strict schedule of the medications that the doctor prescribed. Well, there is a new app that can do all of that and more. Medication Tweets is an app that can be useful to nurses, doctors, caregivers and patients themselves who want to ensure that they don’t miss their important medications.

Medication Tweets is a tool designed to be a sort of companion for the patient. One of its unique features is the voice recorder feature that allows the patient, nurse or even a family member to record a pleasant reminder and schedule the time for it to air. Don’t want a voice recorded? It can be music, a funny joke, or even the name and description of the medication. Anything that will trigger the reminder that it is time to take the medication.

Also, the app keeps the memory and records of anything the patient stores in the app related to the medication, which the patient can then send via email to nurses, doctors or even researchers. They can take this medication history of the patient and analyze the results.

Creator and Founder of Medication Tweets, Jais Joy, talked about why he created this app. “From the feedback of our similar apps to train kids, we understand that a nicely recorded voice reminder can do wonders for the cause. For the patient, it can be a soothing impact which is a tonic to get well. This fact excites me and motivated me to make an app leveraging this potential,” he said.

Here’s how it works: This app enables any IOS device (IOS version 5.0 and above) to schedule recorded messages or alarms. This basically means the patient can take their deviceanywhere and the reminders will alert them. The only thing the patient must do is be sure to have their medications with them.
