California Women Launch Kickstarter to Promote American-Made Goods

Spicer Bags Hopes to Expand from Online to Brick and Mortar

San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/09/2014 -- One can hardly go shopping anywhere today without finding jeans made in Bangladesh, purses made in China, or toys made in Mexico. When the news is constantly portraying the economy as being in need of a boost and American jobs being shipped overseas, seeing the 'Made in Somewhere Else' tag can be discouraging. A new movement towards American-made goods is sweeping the nation and one San Francisco online company is hoping to make the move to storefront property in the Dogpatch area of San Francisco with solely American-made goods, and has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help them do things the American way. Long-time tote bag manufacturer, Spicer Bags is seeking investors who are like-minded to help them fund their new shop, Spicer on Third.

Spicer Bags has been around since 2000, successfully making and marketing American made totes and purses. Spicer Bags has finally secured a brand new storefront space on the ground floor of an office building in San Francisco's Dogpatch district. The space is 1,800 square feet and is too big to fill bags alone, so Spicer Bags owners Bonnie and Sarah, (who are passionate about American Made and began incorporating as many US-made materials in their bags as possible) decided to fill the rest of the space with useful, well-designed, American-made goods.

About Spicer Bags
The owners of Spicer Bags have a proven track record, having expanded their bags into dozens of new stores around the country while also increasing online sales by more than 25%. Investors who help fund this project will not only be helping the American Made movement, but will be set up to receive some awesome javascript:void(0)perks such as Thank you Stickers, Cork Luggage Tags, a Swimsuit/Travel Bag, a Dopp Kit Toiletry Bag, a Signature Tote in a fabric of choice, a Denim Big Boot Tote, a Duffle Bag of choice, invitations to the Spicer on Third launch event, a customized bag of choice, and even a private Spicer on Third party that includes beverages, appetizers and surprise gifts for the donor and up to 9 friends.

The campaign understands not everyone may be able to give, so they ask for those who cannot give monetarily to spread the word about their American-made goods store online through social media.

Their Kickstarter campaign ends October 1, 2014
