The situation was beneficial for calming and sleeping products, which maintained healthy sales dynamics for another consecutive year, adding 15% to its current value sales to reach UAH399 million.

Competitive Landscape

Farmak VAT was by far the biggest player in calming and sleeping in Ukraine thanks to its flagship brand Korvalol. The medicine has existed in the country for decades and many people associate sedative effects and usefulness for the heart with Korvalol. Besides, the product saw improvements with the aforementioned launch in the format of tablets. However, the younger generation is willingly trying other formulations than Korvalol. Products of Laboratoires UPSA (Donormyl - 10% value share) and Chervona Zirka KhFZ PAT (Phytosedum with 9% share) were amongst their favourites too.
