Columbia Pinball League Season 3 to Begin

Columbia, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/11/2014 -- Columbia arcade staple Gunther’s Games will be hosting the third season of the Columbia Pinball League. Launched last year, pinball players from around the state meet weekly at the downtown arcade, to prove they are the area’s best at Pinball. They’ll plunge, flip, and nudge the silver ball to get the highest score possible while playing against three other players at a time.

The league runs every Monday for 10 weeks several times a year. Each season ends with a tournament that draws 30-40 qualifying players who compete on a variety of machines throughout the season to earn points. The league is fully sanctioned by the International Flipper Pinball Association and players earn World Pinball Player Ranking points that can help qualify them for state and national championship series.

Players of all skill levels are welcome to join and there is no cost associated with the league. League organizer, Robert Ryan says, “Even if you have never played, join anyway. It’s a great way to pick up tips and tricks. To improve skills you should come out.” Many world class players choose Columbia Pinball League as their home league and don’t mind sharing their secrets. Adam McKinney, two time league champion, for example is currently ranked 113th in the World. He’s always there.
