German consumers are in relatively confident mood in 2012 despite the recent global recession and current euro crisis. A strong job market and a positive outlook on their personal financial situation have encouraged Germans to spend freely. They expect the wider economy to deteriorate, however, due to the European debt crisis. But rather than wait for their euros to lose value in their bank accounts, consumers are keen to spend and invest on a wide range of products and services.
