Danone's streamlined dairy and baby food portfolio is well in tune with key growth-driving trends in packaged food, including wellness and snacking. It has put a twin strategy in place to address the sluggish growth in Europe and to "invest and leverage" in emerging growth markets. In 2013, it has made a number of bolt-on acquisitions and set up joint ventures with the aim to build scale in its expansion target markets, including the US, Brazil, Russia and China.
