When Indofood Sukses Makmur entered noodles in 2011, it changed the dynamics in an otherwise static category. The company introduced its Indomie brand of noodles, which, for the first time, offered noodles at affordable prices. In 2013, the same company also introduced instant noodles, promptly followed by Nissin. Instant noodles quickly increased; expected to account for a 11% share of value sales in 2013.
