Cafes/bars is influenced by two important factors in Austria. On the one hand, the strong consumer preference for meeting friends and catching up over a cup of coffee benefits the sales of many operators in Austria, both chained and independent. On the other hand, the rather fragmented market with a large number of operators, especially independents, negatively influences the overall sales.
