New Market Study, "Chilled Processed Food in Canada", Has Been Published
Value sales of chilled processed food are flat in 2013, reaching C$5.5 billion, while volume sales decrease by 1%. The higher value than volume growth anticipated in 2013 is an indication that the average unit price of chilled processed food is expected to increase by 1%. Consumer confidence in the economic situation in Canada and rising discretionary income are why many Canadian consumers are placing greater value on fresh, non-processed food.
