Recently Released Market Study: Chocolate Confectionery in Uruguay
In 2013, Plucky (a company from Grupo Bimbo SAB de CV), in a long-awaited move, entered the alfajores category with what the company considers a premium product. Its "alfa mania" alfajor, larger than the average for the category, with more dulce de leche than its competitors and claiming to be using true chocolate and not a similar product, targets consumers aged 17 to 35 years old instead of children like most of its competitors do.
