Corrective Action Before Food Safety Audit

Corrective Action Before Food Safety Audit

Westminster, CO -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/24/2013 -- In an effort to best capture the process of these food audits, TraceGains wants to hear about “the worst food audit experiences.” According to Gary Nowacki, TraceGains’ CEO, “Telling these stories is cathartic. It allows people at food manufacturers and processors to finally share food audit experiences in a friendly yet anonymous setting. This is the antidote to the audit venom. We encourage and request all food safety and quality professionals to share their stress and nightmare food audit experiences.”

Food Safety and Quality Systems Manager at Rudolph Foods Company, Inc., reported, “An interesting question. Within SQF (Food Safety and Quality) auditors have the option of a 'critical' finding, which is cause for suspension of the certification. A critical non-conformance is when there is an actually observed threat to food safety. Major findings are for system failures that lead to a compromised food safety system and minors are for situations that have the potential of leading to a threat to food safety. A responsible management team would not produce unsafe food and would need to make appropriate decisions both short term (immediately) and long term to prevent recurrences of the problem at hand. But shutting down would be an extreme last resort that can put the future of the business in jeopardy.”

For the next two months, TraceGains will collect food audit horror story submissions and will recognize the top 3 audit horror story submissions with a Kindle Fire HDX 7” tablet.

The deadline for submission is December 18, 2013. Enter at: http://www.tracegains.com/audit-horror-story.html
