New Orleans, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/20/2014 -- Reel Progress LLC is pleased to announce that the feature length horror film Creepers aka Horror Anthology Movie Vol. 2 is in pre-production. Shooting begins in March, 2014. Featuring two stories from contemporary horror writers Joe R. Lansdale and Jeff Strand and two classic tales of terror from Lafcadio Hearn and Edgar Allan Poe, Creepers celebrates the weird written word adapted from scribe to screen. The directors include author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson, Jeremiah Kipp, Christian Walker and Mike T. Lyddon. Production will wrap in July with a release anticipated for October, 2014.

About the authors
Joe Lansdale has written novels and stories in many genres, including Western, horror, science fiction, mystery, and suspense. He has written 43 novels and published 28 short story collections along with many chapbooks and comic book adaptations. Frequent features of Lansdale's writing are usually deeply ironic, strange or absurd situations or characters, such as Elvis and JFK battling a soul-sucking Egyptian mummy in a nursing home (the plot of his Bram Stoker Award-nominated novella, Bubba Ho-Tep, which was made into a movie by Don Coscarelli). His novel Cold in July has recently been made into a major motion picture starring Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Bill Paxton is directing an adaptation of Lansdale's novel The Bottoms.
Jeff Strand is the four-time Bram Stoker-award nominated author of over 20 books, including Dweller, Wolf Hunt, and Dead Clown Barbecue. He is currently writing a screenplay based on his novel Pressure, which has been optioned by Identity Films. Publishers Weekly, reviewing his novel A Bad Day For Voodoo, said that “Fans of Sam Raimi should eat it up.” He had a couple of lines in the latest Herschell Gordon Lewis movie and got killed by the Big Bad Wolf. Considered the father of the modern detective story and one of the greatest North American authors who ever lived, Edgar Allan Poe (1809 - 1849) was also an exceptional poet, editor and literary critic. Born in 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts, Poe wrote some of the most memorable horror stories in the english language including The Cask of Amontillado, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Masque of the Red Death and Berenice, the latter of which is being adapted for the Creepers horror anthology movie by filmmaker Jeremiah Kipp.
Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (1850 – 1904), known also by the Japanese name Koizumi Yakumo, was an international writer, known best for his books about Japan, especially his collections of Japanese legends and ghost stories, such as Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things. In the United States, Hearn is also known for his writings about the city of New Orleans based on his ten-year stay in that city.

Gregory Lamberson is the author of Johnny Gruesome, the occult detective series The Jake Helman Files and the werewolf series The Frenzy Cycle. He is the director of Slime City, Slime City Massacre, and Dry Bones, and the producer of Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast and The Legend of Six Fingers. His other feature credits include I Was a Teenage Zombie, Plutonium Baby, Brain Damage, Battledogs and Debbie Rochon's Model Hunger.
Jeremiah Kipp's directing credits include The Sadist starring Tom Savini, The Pod starring Larry Fessenden, Contact (commissioned by Sinister Six annual screening series), The Days God Slept, Crestfallen, The Christmas Party (Cannes and Clermont-Ferrand), Easy Prey (commissioned by NYC's annual VisionFest), Drool (commissioned by Mandragoras Art Space), Snapshot and The Apartment (commissioned by Canon to premiere their XL2 at DV Expo 2004). Award winning filmmaker Mike T. Lyddon has been making films since the late 70's, starting out as most aspiring teens do by shooting no-budget short films on super-8. He has since made four feature films, Cut Up, Zombie! Vs. Mardi Gras, Night for Nixie and Horror Anthology Movie Volume One. He spent 4 years in South America recording live videos of indigenous and traditional music for the Howling Earth project. He is the founder of the indie production company Reel Progress LLC whose website has been online since 1997.
Christian Walker hails from Memphis, TN where he took up acting, writing and music at a young age. He spent 20 years as a musician, most notably playing with Memphis punk stalwarts Pezz and political thrash band, Bury the Living. As an actor,he has appeared in over 30 films, most notably as the lead roles in Live Animals and Tennessee Queer. His directing credits include the short films Slaughterhouse PHI, The Gun Incident and the feature film The Dead Shall Walk. He now resides in New Orleans.
