CuraKit Announces Launch of MeDiK Crowdsourcing Campaign

Indiegogo push will fund development of revolutionary medical care option for outdoor enthusiasts

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/04/2014 -- CuraKit, a group of enterprising outdoor enthusiasts dedicated to safety in outdoor recreation, announced today the launch of an Indiegogo crowdsourcing campaign for an advanced electronic first-aid kit for medical delivery in remote emergencies.

The Mobile electronic Diagnostic integrand Kit (MeDiK) gives outdoor enthusiasts an overview of a given bodily injury and instructions for immediate care while transmitting information to emergency personnel. This potentially life-saving transmission is sent through advanced Bluetooth technology working in tandem with a location-based mobile geolocation application.

Crowdsourcing
The Indiegogo campaign’s initial goal of $250,000 is currently active and runs through May 31, 2014 at 11:59 Pacific Time. Full details about the Indiegogo campaign, including sponsorship and involvement levels can be found at:

“CuraKit is going live on Indiegogo because it's a great way to reach out to creative minds, wearable tech pioneers, enthusiastic early adopters and premium platforms,” says CuraKit founder and CEO Ray Bonnah. “We've come up with some brilliant ideas, but we know that we haven't even scratched the surface of what is possible.”

How it Works
The MeDiK enables a wireless communication channel during intermediary first aid and medical emergencies by initiating measures to determine the extent of bodily injuries and provide intermediary instructions within minutes. Should the injury require emergency personnel, the MeDiK unit can wirelessly contact the proper authorities through geolocation and relay the patient’s physical condition.

Under the Hood
The hardware of each MeDiK unit is comprised of a proprietary composite integrated bearer frame and cover that is lightweight and includes a solar cell allowing for electrical charging of both the unit and any mobile device. This free and clean energy source embodies the spirit of the outdoor enthusiast’s respect of nature by reducing both CO2 emissions and climate change.

The internal software system also makes lighting, voice command and wireless communication possible. With these proprietary electronics systems integrated, the MeDiK will be ready to use upon delivery so long-term performance and efficiency is assured to cut response time in an emergency.
