Respiratory Care Devices Market - Size, Share, Segment Analysis and Global Forecast to 2020

LogoRespiration is the most important metabolic process of the human body by which body obtains energy by reacting oxygen with glucose to release water, CO2 and energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Human respiratory system not only provides oxygen to every parts of the body, also removes body wastes, filtration of infectious agents and provides air needed for speech. Several factors, such as smoking and entrants of pollutants, affect respiratory system and causes diseases. Some respiratory diseases are temporary and less harmful. However, some may be life-threatening. For instance, asthma, cystic fibrosis (CF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, chronic bronchitis and pulmonary fibrosis are life-threatening respiratory diseases. Asthma is one of the serious condition in which the small airways of the affected person's lungs suddenly constrict when they are exposed to exercise, pollen or even dry air. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease that affects the body's exocrine glands which secrete saliva, mucus, tears and sweats. COPD is a group of diseases that involve progressive narrowing of the airways that service the lungs.

Blood Flow Detector Market - Global Industry Size, Share, Trends Analysis and Forecast to 2020

LogoBlood flow detector is a medical device that is used to detect blood flow in the arterial and vinous systems. Analysis of blood flow patterns is important for the treatment of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. Concern for oral care is increasing due to rising prevalence of tooth decay, periodontal diseases, tooth erosion, and tooth sensitivity Dentists use various tools for different procedures such as removing cavity and cleaning teeth. These tools are made of metals such as stainless steel and tungsten carbide. Dental drills are available in various designs. Dental drill is basically composed of an air turbine, a hand-piece and tungsten carbide drill bit. Hand piece is a tube shaped slender connecting drill bit with the driving motor. Drill bit is the essential part of dental drill. Dental drills are constructed from a variety of raw materials such as metals and polymers. The most advance hand piece is made with titanium. Electric operated dental drill generate large amount of heat. It performs cutting action smoothly. Dental drill is frequently used by dentists and dental practitioners for treating cavities in diseases such as dental caries and abscesses, as to restore teeth. It bores through tooth enamel and removes or clean plaque from the surface of the tooth. After drilling the tooth completely, accurately and properly, it is prepared for filling with suitable material and crown to strengthen teeth. It also helps in reducing further damage. In this new method dentist blasts away parts of the tooth surface without using a drill.

Gamma Knife Market - Global Industry Size, Share, Trends Analysis and Forecast to 2020

LogoRadiation therapy is the treatment using ionizing radiation to control, shrink or kill malignant cells. Gamma rays, x-rays and charged particles are radiations mainly used for cancer treatment. Linear accelerator (LINAC) systems, gamma knife and proton beam therapy are the types of radiotherapy. Gamma knife is a non-invasive radiation therapy, to treat tumor and other brain abnormalities. It is also known as stereotactic radio-surgery. It is used mainly for the treatment of pituitary tumors, arteriovenous malfunctions, brain tumors and brain dysfunctions such as trigeminal neuralgia, acoustic neuroma and epilepsy. In gamma knife radio-surgery specialized equipments are used to focus close to 200 gamma beams of radiations. These highly focused beams together converge to deliver powerful treatment for a single point on a tumor. It damages the cancer cells and prevents them from multiplying. In addition, it minimally damages the healthy tissues surrounding the target. It is done by fitting a frame on the head, as to keep the head steady during the treatment. It has low side effects compare to other radiation therapies and conventional surgery. Some of the early complications of gamma knife surgery are fatigue, swelling and scalp and hair problems. In rare cases later complications such as neurological problems may also appear. It is a onetime therapy completed in a single day. The treatment effect of gamma knife radio-surgery appears gradually depending upon the condition. In benign tumors, it results in failure of tumor cells to reproduce. Similarly, in trigeminal neuralgia, it helps to block the transmission of pain signals along the trigeminal nerve. In arteriovenous malformations gamma knife surgeries thickens and close off abnormal blood vessels of brain.

Fibrin Glue Market - Size, Share, Industry Trends Analysis and Global Forecast to 2020

LogoSurgical sealants are used after surgeries or traumatic injuries to bind or hold the external and internal tissues. Some of the major surgical sealants based on their composition are collagen-based compounds, fibrin sealants, synthetic sealants such as cyanoacrylates, and tissue adhesive glues such as hydogels and glutaraldehyde glues. Fibrin sealants, also known as fibrin glue, are a hemostatic agent. Fibrin glue is a unique adhesion material used in surgeries for closure of wounds. Fibrin glues are mainly extracted from collective plasma and contain different amounts of purified and virally-inactivated human proteins. Fibrin glue is composed of two components, including fibrinogen and factor XIII. These concentrated ingredients interact with a solution of thrombin and calcium to form coagulum. As the thrombin and fibrinogen/factor XIII solution combine, a clot of a blood protein called fibrin develops in a few seconds, depending on the dilute form of thrombin is used. Some of the characteristics of fibrin glue include high internal bond strength, high surface adherence strength, and ability to enhance tissue regeneration and clot formation. Fibrin glue is mainly used in cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary surgeries, burn bleeding, and lacerations of liver and spleen. It is also used in other surgeries such as neurosurgeries, plastic surgeries, wound management, and general and orthopedic surgeries. Fibrin glue lowers the risk of infection, provides early hemostasis on the treated area, and improves cosmesis. It also promotes natural tissue healing. However, one of the disadvantages of fibrin glue is the risk of transmission of infectious organisms from human bodies to the glue. Tisseel, biocol, and beriplast are some of the commercially-prepared fibrin sealants.

Labor and Equipment of New Projects Add Costs Says John Hayes Automation Referee

The typical factions that require an automation referee are cost centers. John Hayes, founder and CEO of No Risk Automation explained, "Typically a project is adopted by a department and is found to be beneficial but the impact on other departments is overlooked. This impact can be added cost for labor or equipment to interface with the new automation. In general this cost is low, but all good managers want to stay within budget. In most cases, this is easily mitigated by having a discussion with senior management to assess the total benefit to the company by shifting budgets and responsibilities. The project then takes on a more holistic, collaborative approach."
