Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/26/2014 -- Praised for his guitar work, voice, and ability to tell a story in song, LeMasters and his new album are getting a thumbs-up from reviewers around the world. References to the guitar tone of ZZ Top and the lyricism of writers such as Steve Earle, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and James McMurtry abound in reviews of ONE BIRD, TWO STONES.

Tony Fitton, host of England’s Blues in the Nite, commented: Dick LeMasters has put together a fantastic album and can be immensely proud. I certainly look forward to hearing more and more from a very talented musician! The Belgian music magazine ‘Ctrl.Alt.Country’ noted: With his great-guitar-work opening salvo on One Bird, Two Stones’ downright grand ‘Big Ol’ Buick,’ Texan Dick LeMasters immediately throws one of his main assets on the table. Reminiscent of ZZ Top in its best moments of wandering blues-rock beauty, this song is the ideal vehicle for Texas rock guitar. LeMasters is also an excellent singer and songwriter – something the remaining ten songs on the album abundantly prove. (Translated).

In the Scottish publication ‘Blabber’n’Smoke,’ reviewer Paul Kerr observed: One Bird, Two Stones is a solid album that would snuggle nicely beside the likes of Ray Wylie Hubbard with a raw-boned electric edge to many of the songs. Music writer Johanna Bodde states, in the Netherlands-based ‘Insurgent Country’: [LeMasters’] electric guitar solos are excellent, he makes the guitar cry, scream, moan … it brings great energy and a certain urgency – to get [his] stories across.

An article in the French Magazine ‘Le Cri du Coyote,’ to be published in December of 2014, includes the following (translated by the author, Sam Pierre): [T]here isn't any weak moment in this album. Dick LeMasters belongs to the kind of demanding songwriters who only include a track in an album if they are totally satisfied with it. Reviewer Eric Schuurmans commented in ‘Rootstime.be’ from Belgium: Dick LeMasters is not only and primarily a guitar rocker, but also a great songwriter. (Translated).

The eleven songs on the album cover topics ranging from murder and repentance, rattlesnake-handling churches, heartbreak, and old cars with a shady history. The album was recorded by engineer Floyd Badeaux, whose Port Arthur, Texas, studio once hosted a teen-aged Janis Joplin. Drummer Adam King, vocalist Douglas Greer, and renowned harp man Dan Moser perform on ONE BIRD, TWO STONES, with LeMasters providing the guitars, bass, and lead vocals.

LeMasters has performed primarily in Texas to date, although a European tour is being planned for 2015. Notable acts for whom LeMasters has opened either with his band Longneck Road or as a solo artist include: The Charlie Daniels Band, Chuck Berry, Kix Brooks, John Anderson, Joe Nichols, Craig Morgan, Paul Thorn, Ronnie Milsap, and Wayne Toups.

Dick LeMasters, performing with Douglas Greer and Brew Harrell, will be celebrating the December 1, 2014, international release of ONE BIRD, TWO STONES with several concerts in venues in Austin, Texas, during the weekend of December 12-14, 2014.
