Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/01/2014 -- While school is the farthest thing from a child’s mind in July, Eberly & Associates is working with design and construction teams throughout Northeast Georgia to renovate higher education and K-12 facilities. “Summer is usually a busy time for school renovations, but this summer we are seeing a significant number of capital improvement projects that will continue into the school year,” states Mike Wright, Associate with Eberly & Associates. “We are working on projects that support increasing student populations at many of the Atlanta Public Schools,” continues Mr. Wright. The design teams are adding and renovating spaces to support the Atlanta Public Schools long term facilities plan.
Bunche Middle School on Niskey Lake Road is being renovated and expanded to accommodate 975 6th-8th grade students. The renovated school will have a new gymnasium, performing arts auditorium, career, technology and science labs, cafeteria and renovated library. Site improvements include a new parking lot and improved bus and car circulation.
Inman Middle School is being renovated to support increasing enrollment. New classrooms are being added and support spaces are being renovated. The project includes renovated multi-purpose fields, site, stormwater management and landscape improvements.
Long Middle School is adding new classrooms, an auditorium, administrative offices and a 400 meter track with playing fields. Bus and carpool lanes are being reconfigured and handicap parking is being adjusted to meet new code requirements.
Brandon Primary School is adding new classrooms, a gymnasium/auditorium and renovating the media center. The renovation will also provide improved fencing, athletic and playground equipment and hardscape. Site, stormwater management, and landscape improvements are all part of this project as is the service drive reconfiguration and added parking.
