Fast Food in Japan - New Market Report
Fast food increased by 4% in current value terms in 2012. This growth was mainly driven by convenience stores fast food, which grew significantly, by 8% in current value terms. Whilst many fast food operators struggled to increase their sales, convenience stores fast food benefited from the consumer trend of avoiding cooking at home due to their busier lifestyles, and looking for economy options. The new coffee service at convenience stores also contributed to growth.
