Tobacco in Belgium - New Study Released
With smoking prevalence slightly declining, the main factor which boosted sales of tobacco in Belgium in 2012, especially cigarettes, was cross-border trade. In fact, whilst on average prices in Belgium are higher than in most European countries, they are still considerably lower than in France and the UK. Cross-border trade of cigarettes was thus the main reason why cigarettes managed to see volume growth in 2012.
