New Market Study, "Charge Cards in Malaysia", Has Been Published
Compared to credit cards, charge cards were not as attractive to consumers due to the absence of the revolving credit feature. In addition, stricter credit card regulations which were implemented in 2011 resulted in more aggressive credit card and debit card promotions from issuers. With the shift in focus towards these two lucrative financial card segments, fewer marketing efforts were channelled to the promotion of charge cards at the end of the review period.
