Recent Study: ATM Cards in the US
ATM-only cards have started to be replaced by dual-function financial cards - namely debit cards which can be used for payment at points of sale, as well as for cash withdrawal. As a result of the increase in debit card ownership, cash withdrawals from ATMs across the financial system have risen. ATM-only cards remain useful for consumers with bank accounts who prefer to budget by having a specific amount of cash to hand.
