Recently Released Market Study: Baked Goods in Algeria
In 2013, baked goods in Algeria witnessed strong 6% value growth and a 2% volume increase. The category achieved a stronger value performance than the previous year because of higher unit prices due to a rapid rise in cereal prices in 2012 and 2013. However, the price of the subsidised artisanal baguette was maintained at DZD8.50, which allowed consumers to continue buying in large quantities as bread is a major component of all meals in Algerian cuisine.
