Now Available: Soup in Greece
Packaged soup posted another year of decline in value terms in 2013, falling by 4%. Soup remains something of a niche in Greece, with the country having the lowest per capita consumption of 0.02kg in Western Europe. Homemade soup is by far more popular, with chicken and fish soups being the most common options. The warm climate in the country, along with the perception that soup is mainly eaten to treat colds, results in low consumption.
