2013 has been another dramatic year for Greece, with the recession raging, unemployment rates rising and disposable incomes shrinking further. Within this context, beauty and personal care products saw another year of declining volume and, most notably, value sales. However, the decline in volume has been smoother for a number of staple products, such as shower gel, sun protection and toothpaste, which even managed to record positive growth rates, boosted by unprecedented offers and discounts.
