Market Report, "Retailing in Bulgaria", Published
After a brief recession following the global financial crisis in 2010 and 2011 the Bulgarian economy showed signs of modest recovery. Expectations for acceleration in subsequent years, however, did not materialise. In 2012 growth was anaemic and in 2013 the economy all but stalled. The retailing industry did not prove particularly resistant and registered negative growth in value terms at constant 2013 prices through all but one of the crisis years and into 2013.
