Brandon, MB -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/22/2021 -- QuickBooks company file reset is a service that will delete all closed transactions from a data file, producing a clean data file with beginning balances and open transactions.

"After a while, you will start to notice certain changes with the size of your company file – you will find that the size has grown considerably. There are a few limitations with purging data such as the age of the account. If an account is active for more than 60 days, company data cannot be purged. The account would have to be cancelled and a new subscription started. If the account, however, has been active for less than 60 days, the account would have to be cancelled and a new one started.
Experts recommend that the Revoke and Purge option only be used specifically to clear out a QuickBooks Online Account by manually deleting all data, and starting fresh.
Reconnecting accounts without deleting data entirely can result in many duplicates. "If you wish to simply zero out your account balances, but still want to carry the history in your account, you can make a journal entry to bring all the beginning balances to zero as of a specific date you pick," Rocha said.
