Lethbridge, AB -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/04/2014 -- This documentary explores the life of extreme sports enthusiast Johnny Korthuis, who recently had a brush with death when he BASE jumped from a 485 foot bridge only to have his parachute malfunction. Johnny survived. This is his story.
Johnny didn't grow up with a bunch of super close friends around him. He had few close family members and even fewer mentors. Johnny tried his best to figure things out on his own. However, he always had at least two houses; at least two lives. One was in the city, going to school, hanging with kids his age, and playing by the rules (as best as he could manage). The other life existed on the edge of town, in the trees and canals, on his bikes, and in the shop. Johnny learned plenty in school, but the classroom of the wild and it's sometimes brutal lessons have always spoken a bit louder to him. They were always a little more tangible, always a little more “real”.
Gianna Isabella has been working on this documentary since Johnny's accident in May 2013. They are taking one last trip in order to finish the film. Johnny will BASE jump from the same bridge he fell from in Twin Falls, Idaho. The money raised will go towards hotel stays, food, gas, jump fees as well as being used towards post-production and film festival submissions.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: March 03, 2014 - April 07, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
