The handle and hoop are constructed of USA made ABS plastic, which is strong, rigid and has a rubbery toughness. There is nothing stronger in the plastics field, and that's why plastic clarinets, golf club heads, protective headgear, luggage, appliances, some toys and other consumer goods are constructed of this plastic.
The manufacturer selected for this product is in the US, and is a dog owner. They also believe in the product.
