Cloetta is purely focused on confectionery and owes its position in herbal/traditional products solely from sales of the company's Lakerol brand within medicated confectionery. Lakerol is a traditional and well-established liquorice based product, which was originally launched in Sweden in 1909. Although Lakerol is available in pharmacies, the vast majority of the brands' sales stem from grocery retailers. Some Danes may try to ease a sore throat by eating Lakerol, but very often Lakerol will by purchases merely as a fresh breath pastille or simply as confectionery.
