IMPASSIONED – The story of Trumpeter Dr. Joe Bryant

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/16/2014 -- Like genealogies, oral histories are an indispensable component of the cultural fabric. Often forgotten is the impact that music makes in people's lives. Many can recount stories of how a certain tune brought back many fond memories of past events. The music of the ‘40s era is no exception. Often considered the soundtrack of World War II and the Korean War, Jazz and the Big Band sound dominated the radio airwaves and have influenced daily life even today. The Austin Jazz Alliance and Kianga Films have come together to tell the story of Jazz trumpeter, Dr. Joe Bryant, and have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to make this documentary happen.

About IMPASSIONED
The film, IMPASSIONED, is a snapshot into the life of “Doc” Bryant who was profoundly touched by the music of his day and was able to in turn, touch the lives of many others with his love of music. He has performed with such illustrious Jazz stars as Doc Severinsen and Tommy Newsom from the Tonight Show Band, Paul Guervero of the Woody Herman Band, Mike Vax and Don Joseph of the Stan Kenton Band, Joe Morello of the Dave Brubeck Group and Jack Sperling of the Glenn Miller and Tex Beneke Bands. Contributors who help us in telling Joe's story will receive special perks such as the documentary music soundtrack (Joe plays on all the tracks), a digital download of the film, movie posters, screening invitations, and special recognition in the films credits.

The team also understands that not everyone may be able to give money to help this project, so they ask that those who cannot give monetarily to help by spreading the word about “IMPASSIONED” online through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
