LiveUp Empowerment Network Announces the Successful Launch of Their 'P.L.A.N.' Educational Curriculum for Young People and Students

After LiveUp hired summer interns that ranged in educational level from juniors in High School to freshmen in College, the organization held a 2 day training session and realized that the students were not well versed with professional or life skills. This simple revelation has become a movement with the release of their ‘How to Achieve College and Career Readiness’ workbook that can be adopted into any curriculum.

Chicago, IL -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/25/2014 -- With the successful release of LiveUp Empowerment Network’s ‘How to Achieve College and Career Readiness’ workbook, the organization has fulfilled their core mission to empower young people and equip them with the professional and life skills that they need to succeed. LiveUp’s principles stem from the Biblical proverb that “without a vision the people will perish” (Proverbs 29:18).

Using the ‘P.L.A.N’ model (Prepare, Learn, Apply, Navigate), the workbook and program prepares students as young as 14 for three life tracks: education/training, workforce and entrepreneurship. Meant to complement existing curriculums that teach character development, the LiveUp program can be licensed and adopted into any program easily by purchasing the workbook through LiveUp’s website or through Amazon.

Founder Ocea Jones is an emerging education consultant in the Midwest and has built a reputation as the go-to person for helping people and businesses define their goals, construct a cohesive plan and communicate it clearly to the public. Her goal for the LiveUp program and its participants is simple and undeniably powerful.

“We want to ensure young adults reach their full potential with a vision for their life,” says Jones. “Based on many statistics, people are not well-equipped with life readiness skills; this deficiency has caused a rise in unconstructive behaviors such as criminal activity, school/college dropout rates, unintended pregnancy, illicit drug use/sales, detention rates, and school suspension/expulsion rates, etc. LiveUp’s workbook-based program uses its unique P.L.A.N. model as a solution to decrease unconstructive behavior and help people select and prepare for a life track. At the end of the program, every person walks away with a defined plan for their life, including a Plan B and C.”

Since its inception, more than 200 people have completed the LiveUp plan, and in a recent outing in Crete-Monee, Illinois, 85% of the participants pursued internships and college admission after finishing the program. Those who have been impacted positively by LiveUp have been vocal with their praise for the organization and its goals.

“The LiveUp services help students/people who have the potential to go to college or achieve life success on a specific life track but need a comprehensive program to give them a push and compliment the resources their respective high school have available for students and their families,” wrote John M. Rodgers Ed.D, Superintendent, Crete-Monee School (District 201-U).

“I would recommend the LiveUp Workbook and Program because I learned a lot that I didn’t even know about to start my life correctly,” wrote Autumn Clemons, Graduate of LiveUp & Homewood-Flossmoor High School alumna.

“I have come to know the LiveUp Empowerment Network, NFP to supply my High School guidance department with their College and Career Readiness student tool for our students to prepare for life after graduation,” wrote Linnea Hofman, Lead Guidance Counselor, Crete-Monee High School.

Writing, “this book changed my life!” RJ went on to say, “This book helped me set life goals for myself in order to become an independent adult. I am now a successful accountant because I followed the steps in this book. This book helped me establish life principals that I still use today. Every high school and college student need this book to apply the P.L.A.N. model for life success.”
