Major Pleasure Boat Manufacturer Selects Ultriva Supplier Communication Portal

Cupertino, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/14/2014 -- Ultriva, Inc. announced the implementation of their Collaborative Supply Portal with a large pleasure boat manufacturer. Deployment has begun at six of the manufacturer’s plants. Ultriva’s Collaborative Supplier Portal has allowed full visibility and collaboration between suppliers and buyers. Scott Stickles, Application Consulting Manager at Ultriva, Inc., noted, “The manufacturer has struggled with their communication to the supply base. We will launch into using Ultriva as a supplier communication portal for effective collaboration.”

Ultriva's Collaborative Supply Portal (CSP) provides an easy-to-use platform for suppliers to access demand signals and to acknowledge the receipt of orders and the shipment of goods. CSP also allows for real-time visibility with all trading partners. The dashboard provides visibility to part shortages and outstanding orders including, inventory health, exception alerts, unacknowledged orders, late shipments, late receipts, as well as MRP forecasts/planned orders, and ERP integration status.

Known as a pioneer in Kanban solutions, Ultriva CEO Narayan Laksham and the team of technology solutions professionals at the Cupertino-based firm are strongly advocating that the Lean Manufacturing Suite for the boating industry producers and suppliers integrate with the demand side to streamline the supply chain. Laksham expanded, “This is clearly a paradigm shift compared to the constant focus on improving the planning or forecasts using better and superior algorithms. The primary goal of the process is to schedule manufacturing production based on customer demand instead of forecasts while raw materials and components usage at the manufacturing facilities should drive replenishment to the upstream supply chain. This is also known as consumption driven replenishment or electronic Kanban loops.”
