In operation, the passive sensor connects to a remote controller module via a fiber optic link using industry-standard multimode 62.5/125 fiber. The controller offers a number of built-in interfaces for compatibility with the widest range of motion control, PLC, robotic and motor drive equipment. Interfaces include A/B quadrature, SSI, USB, RS485, Modbus RTU, RS232, Digital Set Points and Programmable Analog Outputs (4-20mA and 0-10V).
Over the years, Micronor’s fiber optic innovation has received industry recognition. In 2008 and 2010, Micronor received Control Engineering Magazine’s ’s Engineers’ Choice Awards for its MR318 MRI Encoder and MR330 series Absolute Encoder, respectively.
