Miami, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/21/2014 -- Angel’s selection to this highly-prized position is just the beginning of a journey that will take her to every corner of South Florida during her year of service as Ms. Miami Gardens Plus America 2014. Angel’s platform is Health and Fitness Awareness for Plus-size Women. She will travel through South Florida speaking to audiences about her initiative, Sew Liberated. Sew Liberated has the mission to empower and bring awareness to health causes using the medium of fashion. Sew Liberated’s motto is, “Be fashionable, be fearless, be free! Together we are Sew Liberated!”

Angel completed her Bachelors of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science at the University of Mississippi. Angel’s passion for education compelled her to complete her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University.

Committed to the plus size woman, the Ms. Florida Plus America Pageant System is an organization devoted to celebrating the essence of the full-figured woman by providing traditional beauty pageant competition for those teens and women ages 13 and up, sizes 14W and up. Our Plus America titleholders are ambitious women with uncompromising morals and a desire to serve their communities through active volunteerism. The Ms. Florida Plus America pageant system provides women with a vehicle to further their personal and professional goals and instills a spirit of community service through a variety of nationwide community-based programs.
