New Family Immersive Experiences in India

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/11/2019 -- Asia tailor made specialist Yonder has launched a new immersive family itinerary in India, designed to engage children and show them the 'real' India by interacting with locals and learning about their jobs and way of life. These include working on a newspaper run by homeless children in Delhi, learning to paint trucks in Jodhpur, experiencing life in an organic village near Jaipur and helping tiger conservation in Ranthambore National Park. The experiences can be booked together as part of a new 15-night India itinerary or in combination with other itineraries.

Journalist for the Day in Delhi

Based out of Delhi's slums, Balaknama is an Indian newspaper run by children who live and work on Delhi's streets. It publishes stories based on the lives of the children, exploring both hard hitting issues and feel-good stories. Join the team and learn about the issues that affect them and how they are trying to change people's perception and create an identity. The first edition of Balaknama was published in 2003 in Hindi. Today it is published bi-monthly in both Hindi and English with over 4,000 copies of each issue distributed.

Truck Painting in Jodhpur

Truck art in India is a popular form of regional decoration, with many trucks painted in bright floral patterns and calligraphy, reminding the drivers of home, as well as using religious symbolisation and even messages to other drivers such as 'horn please' and 'use dipper at night'.

Yonder can arrange for guests to spend time with Raja, a professional truck-painter for the past 30 years in a truck depot in the blue city of Jodhpur. Raja, together with his team, transform classic trucks creating vibrant canvases on wheels. During the experience, families will help Raja complete his work, learning the history of truck art and tricks of the trade to do with this particular form of art.

Organic farming in Jaipur

Spend time with the students, villagers and farmers of the village of Ghimjha near Jaipur to get an insight into a village which is progressively moving towards the practices of organic agriculture. You will meet the young students at the local government school and take a walk through the village and be introduced to many of the villagers. Lunch will be at the organic farm which is leading the way in sustainable farming in the area, to get an understanding of the positive impact it has had on the local farmers and the village.

Tiger Conservation in Ranthambore National Park

Stay in Ranthambore National Park and work alongside an NGO called Tiger Watch, which was set up by Fateh Singh Rahore, also known as the father of Ranthambore, who recognised the need to bridge the gap between government employed rangers patrolling the tiger reserve and the local communities who see the national park as an area that they have used for grazing the livestock and foraging in for generations. Tiger Watch aims to educate traditional local communities and bring about an awareness that the tigers are actually a benefit not a menace to the local community. Join monitoring patrols and chart tiger movements and go on safari to little visited sections of the park, which are wild and less well trodden. Stay with Fateh's late family in a new boutique home stay called Fateh's Retreat.

The 15 night tailor made itinerary includes four nights in Delhi, three nights in Jodhpur, two nights in Nagaur, three nights in Jaipur and three nights at Ranthambore National Park. The price starts from £3,400 per person including international and domestic flights and private driver, based on a family of four sharing a room. www.yonder.co.uk 0203 880 8585
