Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/24/2012 -- Total S.A (Total), a diversified energy company, completed the acquisition of an additional 25% interest in Gorgoglione concession, which includes Tempa Rossa (re development) field, and 51.7% interest in each of two exploration licenses located in the Basilicata region, Southern Italy, from Esso Italiana S.r.l (Exxon), a company engaged in the extraction and refining of crude petroleum and natural gas. The acquisition enables Total to strengthen its position in the exploration and production sector in Italy.
