This performance was derived from the maturity of the category and the lack of product innovation. In addition, the economic crisis further contributed to the poor performance of concentrates, as Italian consumers, who had lower disposable incomes, reduced or avoided the purchase and consumption of anything which was not considered a necessity.

Competitive Landscape

The main players in concentrates in 2013 remained Fabbri 1905 and Prontofoods, with a combined value share of 49%. In liquid concentrates Fabbri 1905 was the leader with a value share of 51%, whilst in powder concentrates Prontofoods was the leader with a 46% value share.
