Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/14/2014 --A second transcontinental relay to benefit the One Fund Boston will take place one week before the Boston Marathon. The race will end in Boston eight days before this year's Boston Marathon. This is the 2nd year for the cross country race, which spans 3,300 miles.

The transcontinental relay race will benefit the One Fund, which benefits victims of last year’s bombings at the Boston Marathon. The race will start March 16th and end in Boston on April 13th. Runners will start in California and the race will go through 14 states.

The race route is 3,300 miles. The course starts in Santa Monica, California and will end at the Esplanade along the Charles River. The course will take runners through southern parts of Arizona and New Mexico, in hopes of not encountering ice and snow. Last years race raised $91,000 for the One Fund. This year the goal is $1 million.
